Bouquets on the Blog

Hello, flower friends! Taylor here. If you’ve been outside lately, then you’re well aware that it is officially summer! As a lover of all things that bloom, I anxiously await the arrival of this season. When the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, many couples brave the heat and tie the knot. Summer weddings. Summer flowers. My kryptonite.

In honor of the season, I want to take this opportunity to showcase our beautiful bridal bouquets that we designed and photographed for our styled wedding photoshoot earlier this month in Raleigh. We chose to design along three themes- traditional, bohemian and contemporary. Such themes are timeless and can withstand all seasons. For our purposes, we brought these styles to life with the blooms of the spring and summer growing seasons.

Traditional

If my fabulous co-author, Julianna, could exist as a bouquet of flowers, then this traditional beauty would be her. This handheld bouquet includes two shades of pink peonies, light pink garden roses, white larkspur, dusty miller, and pink veronica.

Bohemian

Now if I could exist as a bouquet of flowers, then this grand mixture of boho blooms embodies the flower-life of my dreams. (Be still my beating heart!) This over-the-top wildflower display was brought to a colorful existence with literally all of my favorite flowers. The bohemian bouquet sports pink peonies, orange ‘Juliet’ David Austin garden roses, pale peach garden roses, blue delphinium, queen anne’s lace, orange ranunculus, white ranunculus, pink veronica, dusty miller and blue thistle.

Contemporary

Monochromatic and textural floral designs, especially for weddings, are as popular as ever. This contemporary, in-vogue bouquet includes hydrangea, ranunculus, tulips, mini calla lilies and eucalyptus greens.

Our styled wedding photoshoot was an absolute success. Julianna and I had a wonderful time designing these bouquets (and centerpieces! Have you seen that blog post? If not, read it now!) and running around Raleigh to capture their beauty.

Also, a huge 'thank you' is in order for my sweet friend, Susannah. THANK YOU for traveling to Raleigh to model our bouquets on possibly the hottest spring day Raleigh has ever had. You're the best pretend-bride, Suz! We appreciate you!

Always thinking flowers,
Taylor
